Berlin - Serena Williams continued her return to the top tiers of the WTA tennis rankings by rising three places to sixth in the wake of her Madrid title on Sunday.
The former number one Williams has 5 300 points in Monday's list after crushing number one Victoria Azarenka in straight sets at the big clay court event in Spain.
Azarenka tops the bill with 9 020 points despite her third defeat of the year. Maria Sharapova, also beaten by Williams in Madrid, has 7 610, and Agnieszka Radwanska is third on 7 080.
