Tsonga joins list of walking wounded

Paris - French sixth seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga quit his Roland Garros third round match with injury on Saturday, dealing another blow to the Grand Slam tournament.

Tsonga, a two-time semi-finalist, was leading Ernests Gulbis of Latvia 5-2 in the opening set when he strained his groin and was forced to stop.

His pull-out comes just a day after nine-time champion Rafael Nadal, the fourth seed, withdrew with a wrist injury.

Roger Federer, the world number three, opted against playing in the tournament with a back injury.
