Paris - Serena Williams will play Garbine Muguruza in the French Open final after the top seed and defending champion defeated Kiki Bertens of the Netherlands 7-6 (9/7), 6-4 in Friday's semis.
The 34-year-old American is aiming to win her 22nd Grand Slam title in Paris equalling the Open-era record set in Paris 17 years ago by Steffi Graf.
Muguruza defeated Australia's Samantha Stosur 6-2, 6-4 in the other semi-final to reach the championship match in Paris for the first time.
