Cape Town - Swiss tennis star Roger Federer has congratulated Rafael Nadal after the Spaniard won his 10th French Open title at Roland Garros.
Nadal demolised Switzerland's Stan Wawrinka 6-2, 6-3, 6-1 in Sunday's final to become the first man in history to win the same major 10 times.
Nadal now boasts 15 Grand Slam titles - three behind Federer's all-time record of 18.
Federer skipped the French Open, including the whole clay-court season, to instead focus on the grass-court season ahead, with Wimbledon his top priority.
Federer had beaten Nadal at the year's first Grand Slam - at the Australian Open in January - and also beat the Spaniard in Indian Wells and Miami, where he won both Masters 1000 events.
But there's no bad blood between the two rivals and after Nadal's win on Sunday, Federer took to Twitter to congratulate his great rival:
Simply incredible, Rafa #10 #RG17 #VamosRafa #justdoit
