Paris - Juan Martin del Potro has confronted a spectator sitting in Court Suzanne Lenglen after he hit a double fault to drop his serve at a crucial moment against Marin Cilic.

The double fault gave Cilic a 5-4 lead in the second set of their quarter-final.

Immediately after double-faulting, Del Potro turned to the spectator and gestured angrily.

Del Potro then exchanged a few words with the umpire and returned to his chair, smashing his racquet in anger.

Del Potro recovered well, though, breaking back in the next game and went on to win 7-6 (7/5), 5-7, 6-3, 7-5 to set up a semi-final showdown with world No 1 Rafael Nadal.
