Paris - French Open runner-up Lucie Safarova has broken into the WTA world top 10 for the first time on the back of her career-best performance in Paris.
The Czech player has moved up to seventh following her three-set loss in the final to world No 1 Serena Williams.
The 33-year-old American consolidated her top spot with the win with Maria Sharpova dropping from second to fourth having failed to defend her crown at Roland Garros.
Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitov moved up to second with Simona Halp of Romania in third.
