Serena on all-Williams final: 'We've both won'

Cape Town - Serena Williams has declared the Australian Open a victory for her family as either herself or Venus Williams will triumph in the women's singles final on Saturday.

It will be the ninth time that the Williams sisters have contested a Grand Slam final after they both overcame their semi-final opponents in different fashion.

Younger sister Serena made light work of 34-year-old Mirjana Lucic-Baroni - who was appearing in her first Grand Slam semi-final for 18 years - beating the Croatian in straight sets 6-2, 6-1, while her older sister Venus had to come from one down to eventually move past compatriot Coco Vandeweghe.

However, whatever the result over the weekend, Serena is sure that it will be smiles all round in the Williams household.

"For us both to be in the final is the biggest dream come true," said Serena.

"She's my toughest opponent, no one has ever beaten me as much as Venus has. I just feel like no matter what's happened we've both won.

"It is definitely 100 per cent the best-case scenario that I could have ever dreamt of.

"She's been through a lot, I've been through a lot. To see her do so well it's great. I look forward to it. A Williams is going to win this tournament."
