Raven Klaasen victorious in Marseille

Cape Town - South Africa’s Raven Klaasen and his doubles partner from New Zealand, Michael Venus, won the ATP’s Open 13 in Marseille at the weekend.

They defeated New Zealand's Marcus Daniell and his British partner Dominic Inglot 6-7 (2/7), 6-3, 10-4 in the final.

The top seeds fought back after dropping a tight opening set to the fourth seeds to clinch victory in 1 hr 22.

It is the pair’s first title together since they joined forces at the ASB Classic in Auckland last month.

Klaasen and Venus had taken a few weeks to start gelling after losing in the first round of the Australian Open and the Rotterdam ATP tournament.

It was Klaasen's 14th career ATP doubles title.
