Cape Town - World number one Novak Djokovic said that he was not overly surprised when he heard that Andy Murray and former coach Ivan Lendl had joined forces again ahead of Wimbledon.

Under Lendl's influence between 2011 and March 2014, Murray had great success winning two grand slam singles titles and a singles gold medal at 2012 London Olympics.

But since Lendl and Murray parted ways, Djokovic has dominated Murray, winning 13 of their 15 meetings.

On Wednesday (June 22), Djokovic was in action at the Boodles exhibition tournament at Stoke Park near London, losing against David Goffin of Belgium 6-3, 7-5. The world number one will play his next match against big-serving Australian Nick Kyrgios in his Wimbledon warmup the following day.

In an interview after his loss to Goffin, Djokovic said he was not surprised by Murray's decision to re-hire Lendl.

"I don't think it's a surprising decision from Andy," Djokovic said.

"When Ivan was his coach before, Andy won a couple of grand slams and an Olympic gold medal, some of the best results of his career so I think it was a logical move for him to take.

"They're a good team so it's going to be interesting."

The 29-year-old Djokovic said his preparations were going well for Wimbledon as he was feeling rested and primed for the challenges ahead.

"We're moving on and it's back on grass starting from scratch now," Djokovic said.

"It's great that round the corner we have Wimbledon, back to back grand slams in less than a month and that will definitely make me focus and stay the journey.
