Kyrgios ban reduced to 3 weeks

Sydney - Nick Kyrgios has had his two-month ban reduced to three weeks after he agreed to seek mental help.

The Australian - who is often in the headlines for all the wrong reasons - initially received a two-month ban and a $25 000 fine for 'conduct contrary to the integrity of the game' after tanking a match in the Shanghai Masters.

But upon accepting help from the governing body, the ban will be reduced upon the completion of the care plan.

"Nick has taken up the care plan on offer to him from the ATP," the ATP confirmed.

"The details and contents of the plan are strictly confidential."

However, it is believed the 21-year-old will have sessions with a sports psychologist. Once the plan is complete, Kyrgios will be eligible to play from November 7 as opposed to January 15.
