Fognini and Pennetta welcome baby boy

Cape Town - Tennis superstars Fabio Fognini and wife Flavia Pennetta have welcomed a baby boy into the world. 

The Italian duo announced the birth of their child on Twitter.

"Fabio and I are happy to share with you the birth of our son Frederick," wrote Pennetta, the 2015 US Open champion.

The news caps off a great week for the couple, as Fognini upset world No 1 Andy Murray in the Italian Open on Tuesday.
