Federer's 100th title sees Anderson slip in rankings

Cape Town - South African tennis star Kevin Anderson has slipped to No 6 in the latest ATP Tour rankings.

The 32-year-old has been struggling with an elbow injury of late which prevented him from defending his New York Open title last month.

When the latest ATP Tour rankings were released on Monday Anderson found himself slipping from down a spot to No 6 on the rankings.

This was due to Swiss star Roger Federer moving up three spots from No 7 to No 4 courtesy of winning his 100th ATP Tour title at the Dubai Championships.

Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro also moved down a spot to No 5, as did Japan's Kei Nishikori to No 7.

Anderson's next scheduled event is the Indian Wells Masters which begins in the Californian desert later this week.

There was more good news for South Africa's Lloyd Harris, who moved up seven spots to a career-high 92 in the rankings.

Harris played in the Oracle Challenger at Indian Wells this past weekend where he lost in the semi-finals Great Britain's Kyle Edmund.

Harris will play in the qualifier event for the Indian Wells Masters.
