Federer eager to add to his title count in Halle

Cape Town - As he prepares to chase title number 10 at the Halle Open this week, Roger Federer says that "victory must always be the goal".

Federer has a long association with Halle, which he has traditionally favoured as his Wimbledon warm-up instead of Queen's.

And, speaking to the press ahead of the tournament, he made it clear that he is out to win it.

"Victory must always be the goal here in Halle," Federer said.

"I am injury free, I feel totally well, I just love to play in this place. And that’s why I enter the tournament with a very good feeling.

"It was good to reach the semi-finals again at a Grand Slam, and after a first time in Paris in four years.

"(I'm feeling) really fresh, well and ready for the grass. And the grass suits my game. I like the intuitive, aggressive game.

"On the other hand, it is always a balancing act. The matches are often decided in a few rallies. You must always be alert, very focused."

He will face Australian John Millman on Tuesday at 17:30 SA time.
