Djokovic urges everyone to stay at home in quarantine

With sport all around the world in limbo as the coronavirus pandemic takes hold, tennis star Novak Djokovic has taken to social media to encourage fans.

Djokovic posted a picture of his family enjoying time together as they self-isolate like much of the rest of the world.

"We can't be healthy if the world isn't healthy," said the 17-time Grand Slam winner.

"This is a time for us all to get together and unite. Let's really try to spend quality time with our family at home, enjoy[ing] the little things in life."

The Serb emphasised the need for people to remain in their homes as much as possible to minimise the spread of the virus.

"Please stay at home in quarantine and help frontline medical people to help the people infected and in need," added Djokovic.

Tennis schedules are in disarray following the outbreak of the pandemic with the French Open moved to September and Wimbledon in doubt.
