Dimitrov wins Sofia Open on home soil

Sofia - Grigor Dimitrov won his second title of 2017 on Sunday with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Belgium's David Goffin in the final of his home Sofia tournament.

His win took his record for the year to 14-1 with his only defeat coming in the Australian Open semi-finals when he lost in five sets to Rafael Nadal.

Dimitrov, who went through 2015 and 2016 without a title, didn't drop a set all week in the Bulgarian capital and will move to 12 in the world rankings on Monday.

"This is my most prestigious title. Winning it at home is a tremendous success for me. I will treasure this title for the rest of my life," said Dimitrov who now has six career titles and was champion in Brisbane last month.

"It's something amazing for me. The crowd has been absolutely magnificent throughout the week. I'm more than thankful for their support."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
