Cape Town - Former world No 5 Juan Martin del Potro revealed he will be able to get back on court sooner than expected following his latest injury.
The former US Open champion is currently recovering from the fractured knee cap injury that he sustained during the Shanghai Masters in October.
He made a brief comeback at the Delray Beach Open in February before suffering a fresh setback with reports suggesting he could be out of action for up to six months as he might require knee surgery.
However, he revealed via Twitter that has been advised to continue with his current treatment and will return to training in the near future.
“This week I had multiple tests done on my knee in Barcelona by Dr. Ángel Cotorro and after reviewing my results he advised me to continue with my current treatment,” he wrote.
“He is satisfied with my progress and soon I will be back on court training.”
