Cape Town - Third seeded Argentine Diego Schwartzman won the ATP title in Los Cabos when he defeated fifth-seeded American Taylor Fritz 7-6 (8/6), 6-3 in the final on Saturday.
According to the ATP Tour's official website, it was Schwartzman's third ATP title of his career and his first on hard courts.
"This feels really great because I'll take a lot of confidence with me for the next tournaments. It was really important for me to come here and win big matches against the big guys. The title is like the cherry on top for me," Schwartzman said.
Schwartzman picked up 250 ATP Rankings points and $131 430, while Fritz walked away with 150 ATP Rankings points and $71 065.
