Cape Town - Kevin Anderson's chances of qualifying for the year-ending ATP Finals have ended with his defeat to Fernando Verdasco at the Paris Masters.
Anderson, the 12th seed for the tournament, lost in three sets to the unseeded Spaniard, going down 5-7, 6-4 and 7-5 in the second round.
Going into the tournament, Anderson was in 10th position in the race to the ATP Finals with only the top eight players qualifying for the event.
