Anderson seeded 5th at US Open

Cape Town - South African tennis star Kevin Anderson will be seeded fifth for the year's final Grand Slam, the US Open, which starts in New York next week.

Anderson moved back into the world's top five on Monday following his run to the last 16 of last week’s Cincinnati Masters, where he was beaten 6-2, 6-4 by Belgium’s David Goffin.

Anderson will have good memories of New York, having made headlines at the US Open last year when he reached the final, before losing to world No 1 Rafael Nadal from Spain.

The South African also reached the Wimbledon final this year, but lost to Serbia's Novak Djokovic.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
