Anderson crashes out in Shanghai

Cape Town - South Africa's Kevin Anderson has been knocked out in the second round of the Shanghai Masters tennis tournament.

He lost in straight sets to 6th seed Gael Monfils of France, going down 7-6 (7/4) and 6-3.

Anderson is yet to defeat the Frenchman in five meetings dating back to 2011.

Monfils will now face the winner of the match between David Goffin and Benoit Paire in the next round.
