Anderson beaten in Stockholm quarters

Cape Town - South Africa’s Kevin Anderson on Friday lost to Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov in the quarter-finals of the Stockholm Open.

The second-seeded Bulgarian won 7-6 (7/3), 5-7, 6-2.

Dimitrov looked set for a comfortable win when he led by a set and a break, but the South African No 1 rallied to win the second set, only to see Dimitrov regain his composure in the decider.

He now has a 6-1 winning head-to-head record against world No 48 Anderson.

Dimitrov, the world No 18, will play either Argentina’s Juan-Martin del Potro or Croatia’s Ivo Karlovic in the semi-finals.
