Bucharest - Defending champion Lukas Rosol has reached the Nastase Tiriac Trophy quarter-finals with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over eighth-seeded Jarkko Nieminen of Finland on Wednesday.
The Czech saved seven of the eight break points he faced on the clay at BNR Arenas.
Rosol moved the defense of his first ATP title to home favorite Victor Hanescu, who took just over two hours to beat fourth-seeded Gilles Simon of France 2-6, 6-3, 6-3.
