Murray wins Montreal title

Montreal - Andy Murray ended an eight-match losing streak against Novak Djokovic as he defeated the Serbian world No 1 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 on Sunday to win the ATP Tour's Montreal Masters.

Britain's Murray, who returns to second in the world rankings on Monday, had not beaten Djokovic since the 2013 Wimbledon final.

Murray denied Djokovic a 25th Masters 1000 title and a seventh trophy this season.

The Scotsman claimed an 11th Masters crown, Murray having also won Canadian titles in 2009 and 2010.
