Nice - Lu Yen-Hsun of Taiwan upset fifth-seeded Italian Andreas Seppi 7-5, 1-6, 6-4 Monday to reach the second round of the Open de Nice.

Carlos Berlocq of Argentina and Robin Haase of the Netherlands also advanced.

Berlocq did not face a single break point in his 6-2, 6-1 win over compatriot Leonardo Mayer, while Haase beat Marinko Matosevic of Australia 6-1, 6-4, breaking serve three times in the opening set and jumping out to a 5-1 lead in the second.

First Round:

Carlos Berlocq (ARG) bt Leonardo Mayer (ARG) 6-2, 6-1

Robin Haase (NED) bt Marinko Matosevic (AUS) 6-1, 6-4
