Djokovic routs Rosol in China

Beijing - World No 1 Novak Djokovic kicked off the defence of his China Open title with a ruthless 6-0, 6-3 first round win over Lukas Rosol on Tuesday.

Djokovic, who could lose his top ranking to Rafael Nadal this week, needed just 54 minutes to crush his Czech opponent's resistance, without hitting a single double fault in a dominant display.

The Serb, aiming for his fourth China Open title in five years after missing the 2011 tournament through injury, went into the match with a perfect 14-0 record in the event.

Nadal needs to reach the final in Beijing to reclaim the No 1 ranking and began his Beijing campaign with a 6-2, 6-4 win against Colombian qualifier Santiago Giraldo.
