Zim call up 10 PSL players

Johannesburg - Zimbabwe have named no fewer than 10 Premier Soccer League players in their 23-man squad for the friendly international against Botswana in Harare on Wednesday.

According to the football411.com website, the Warriors are currently preparing for next month's 2014 World Cup qualifiers, with new coach Klaus Deter Pagels eager to discover his best XI ahead of the crucial games in Egypt.

Ajax Cape Town's Tafadzwa Rusike is back in the side after his suspension due to the Asiagate affair, while Matthew Rusike of Kaizer Chiefs could make his debut for the national team.

New Bidvest Wits signing and Zimbabwe's Footballer of the Year Denver Mukamba is an unsurprising inclusion, while Rodreck Mutuma of Bloemfontein Celtic and SupeSport United's Simba Sithole also received call-ups.

However, Pagel has dropped AmaZulu and Zimbabwe captain Tapuwa Kapini, as well as Mamelodi Sundowns' Esrom Nyandoro as the pair both enter the twilight of their respective careers.

Full Zimbabwe squad:

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
