Cape Town - Former England internationals turned pundits Gary Neville, Ian Wright and Lee Dixon celebrated wildly after England's historic penalty shoot-out victory over Colombia.

The Three Lions edged Colombia 4-3 on penalties to halt a run of five successive shootout defeats at major tournaments and book a quarter-final clash against Sweden at the World Cup.

As it happened: Colombia v England

As goalkeeper Jordan Pickford made a vital save to dent fifth penalty taker Carlos Bacca the former England internationals raised the roof of their TV studio as Eric Dier converted the decisive spot-kick.

It is the first time ever that the notoriously unlucky Three Lions have found themselves on the winning side of a shootout.
