The penalty victory was England's first in four attempts at a World Cup.

Via the official Kensington Palace Twitter page, Prince William tweeted he "couldn't be prouder" of England and added that the "whole country is right behind you for Saturday".

England will play Sweden in the quarter-finals on Saturday at 16:00 (SA time).
