Navas calm amid Courtois speculation

Cape Town - Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas insists he is not concerned by speculation linking the club with a move for World Cup Golden Glove winner Thibaut Courtois.

Navas earned a dream switch to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2014 on the back of an impressive World Cup in Brazil with Costa Rica, but has since seen his future questioned on numerous occasions.

Los Blancos came close to signing Manchester United star David de Gea a year later, while Courtois appears to be the latest keeper on their radar following his exploits in Russia during June and July.

The Belgium international received the FIFA accolade after helping his country reach the semi-finals at the global showpiece, which has further enhanced his reputation.

But three-time UEFA Champions League winner Navas remains relaxed about the situation after holding talks with new Real head coach Julen Lopetegui, who succeeded Zinedine Zidane at the helm last month.

"I already spoke with him [Lopetegui]," the 31-year-old told La Nacion. "Everything is fine, everything is fine, no worries.

"I am calm. The truth is I have two years left on my contract, in which I have to spend my energies and my mind is thinking how to improve day by day with the effort that I have to show.

"I enjoy every moment, we must see what will happen in the future. Then I must not stop enjoying [life].

"I'm calm and I'm fine there [in Madrid]. I have always said, every year, that I can be there, because I will be very happy.

"I'm happy, really grateful to God because there are very nice opportunities. I go with all the dreams of the world, like when I first moved there. I will work hard and strive every day to keep enjoying what it is to be in Madrid."
