England fan with ‘World Cup winners’ tattoo: ‘I’ll never get rid of it’

Moscow - England soccer fans were devastated when the Three Lions came crashing out of the Soccer World Cup on Wednesday.

But probably none more so than James Richardson, 32, - considering he’d just had 'England 2018 World Cup Winners' inked onto his stomach.

James, from Alleron Bywater in Yorkshire, decided to get the palm-sized tattoo after England beat Panama in the group stages, convinced Harry Kane and his men would go all the way to the finals.

But even after his beloved team were knocked out after losing 2-1 to Croatia in the semi-finals this week, James doesn’t regret his new ink.

“It’s better to have believed and lost than to have never believed at all,” he told The Daily Star.

And the proud Englishman says he has no intention of getting rid of it either.

“Mate, I’m still getting drinks bought for me now. This tattoo has paid for itself a million times over.”

“I’ll never, ever, ever get rid of this tattoo, no matter what.”
