Cape Town - Toby Alderweireld feels he did enough with Belgium at the Soccer World Cup to re-establish himself in the Tottenham Hotspur side.
The 29-year-old centre-back was excellent for Red Devils as they went all the way to the semi-finals in Russia, suffering just one defeat - to champions France.
The former Ajax and Atletico Madrid player, who was snapped up by Spurs from Southampton after a season on loan in 2014/15, has been an ever present in Mauricio Pochettino's side, but lost his place following a hamstring injury last term.
While he was on the side-lines, Colombian defender Davinson Sanchez established himself in the side, leaving Alderweireld to ponder his future at the club.
Having made six appearances as Belgium finished third at the global showpiece, Alderweireld says he feels he proved his quality.
"I was very focused on this tournament," He said as quoted by Sky Sport News website.
"I wanted to prove something to me, show that the period before the tournament in which I, for whatever reason, did not play, it was unjustified.
"I wanted to show that I'm still Toby, same as in November."
Despite reported interest from Manchester United, the defender added: "I really know nothing. In my head, I'm just going back to Tottenham. We'll see."
