Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns-bound winger Ejike Uzoenyi is on his way to the FIFA World Cup after being recalled
to the Nigeria squad to replace the injured Elderson Echiejile.
The 26-year-old was one of three players cut from the provisional Super Eagles squad last week. However, he will have a chance to impress in Brazil after all owing to Echiejile's misfortune as he suffered a muscle tear against Greece last week.
The 2014 African Nations Championship Most Valuable Player will be the second player to represent the Brazilians at the tournament, following the inclusion of defender Rashid Sumaila in Ghana's 23-man squad.
Uzoenyi's time with Enugu Rangers ends at the end of June and he will officially join up with the reigning PSL champions for the new season.
