Bonus day for Bafana players

Johannesburg - The Siya crew has been reliably informed that Bafana Bafana players will receive their Soccer World Cup bonuses on the 25th of July, 12 days after the curtain has been closed on the event.

WIN: Tickets to the World Cup Final

According to one of the Bafana players, speaking on condition of anonymity, they don’t expect any hassles in getting what was promised to them. “Unlike the previous regime, the current one has been good when it comes to payments. We don’t expect any problems getting our money on the 25th.”

Another player told the crew that they were not happy with the R1 million-a-goal motivation from South African Football Association. “It was a good idea but the same can’t be said about the execution because it put more pressure on the strikers. It would have been much better if they said we’d get R1 million for a win, half for a draw and nothing for a loss.”

Bafana scored three goals in the tournament, conceding five, which means they will share R3 million added to their initial bonus agreement with SAFA.
