RVP unhurt after kiteboard scare

Cape Town - The Netherlands duo of Robin van Persie and Jaryl Janmaat escaped without serious injury after being hit by a kiteboarder on Monday.

The pair were enjoying some downtime at a beach in Rio when they were knocked over by a kiteboarder. However, Dutch officials have been quick to calm fears that they may have picked up injuries.

"There is no reason for concern. It's nothing serious, just a few scratches," a KNVB spokesman said.

Both players are expected to feature in the Netherlands' opening match of the World Cup against Spain on Friday.
