Austrian makes gold vuvuzela

Vienna - An Austrian goldsmith says he has made a €17 000 vuvuzela that was ordered by a Russian businessman.

The Linz-based craftsman, Klemens Pointer, told Austrian public broadcaster ORF that the Russian planned to give the tooter to a South African business partner for the World Cup final on July 11.

Pointer said the body of the instrument was plastic, like a conventional vuvuzela, but studded with white gold and diamonds.

It is just as loud as the real thing, too, he added.
