World Cup joy

Dear Editor,

This morning as I was preparing to leave for work I caught highlights of the Soccer World Cup and I cannot even begin to express the overwhelming feeling of joy and pride that gripped my heart. South Africa, "we" have really outdone ourselves. "We" showed the world what a truly beautiful, diverse country we have.

"We" also showed the world what a country who stands together can accomplish. "We" might not have the actual photographs but the pictures will forever be in our memories and that is something that nobody can take from us.

I will never forget June 11 and the feeling of absolute euphoria that day brought for myself and others. Also engraved on my heart is the feeling when Tshabalala scored that opening goal. Wow!

I’m so blessed to have lived to experience a truly world class experience right here on home ground.

I have a grateful heart to God - because He makes ALL things possible!

Before June 11, many sceptics thought it was somewhat impossible for South Africa to pull it off. Today the whole world knows South Africa indeed "pulled it off" not only did "we" pull it off but we have raised the bar. I doubt any country will be able to top what we have done here in 2010!

The word of God says that a house divided against itself shall fall. But we South Africans came together, united we stood!

Viva South Africa Viva!
