'Nothing but the vuvuzelas'

Football fans from around the world have written to News24 to complain about the noise of the vuvuzela on television broadcasts of World Cup games. Danny Jordaan has also mooted the possibility of a vuvuzela ban. What do you think? Have your say in the comments box below...

I started watching the Uruguay-France game on television today. There was a horrible droning sound in the background at the Stadium. Apparently, these are horns that people bring into the stadium. South Africans have to realize that people around the world are very likely to find this as irritating as I do. On local radio here, people are complaining already. For myself, I just had to turn off the game... Icouldn't watch with that noise. Can you put a concern to the people running this to STOP THAT!?

Please South Africa, get rid of the vuvzelas before you loose sympathy in Europe. It gives pain for those who watch TV. We love Africa but this is not good for anyone. We looked forward to drums, signing and cheering African style but we only get this high sound and no cheering. Be aware before you destroy the whole championship!

Although I've never been in South Africa, I am fascinated and interested in your beautiful country, your history and culture and of course the great joyous people. Now the football world is your guest. After four years of waiting now we all wish to enjoy an amazing World Cup. But there is still no pleasure to watch the matches. There is always an unbelievable audible fog broadcasted like millions of hornets passing the stadium. No cheering, singing, drumming, ovation, groan and NO emotions! There's nothing but the vuvuzelas. PLEASE PLEASE help the world and STOP this toneless, rhythmless trumpeting for the WC, for the fans, for FOOTBALL. Seriously, I mute my TV, and will do this till the end.
