Dear Editor,
According to News24 reports there are thousands of empty SWC seats - this is a disgrace.
What an opportunity for a kid (township or otherwise)to have seen a World Cup game for the first time - a memory to last forever, and an inspiration for young soccer players to one day be on that field as a player!
Instead, the money-grubbers priced themselves above and beyond most of us. Perhaps there are some empty seats because a few tourists missed their flights...but thousands of seats?
These could have been given away. Yes, given away.
FIFA and cronies have made their money and it's safely in the bank.
Blocks of these seats could have been given to schools. We can only hope Brazil is keeping an eye on how our Cup goes, because they're next in line for a FIFA rogering in 2014.
