Brazil: Neymar will be ready

Cape Town - Brazil insist striker Neymar will have overcome his thigh and knee injuries in time for Friday's World Cup quarter-final clash against Colombia.

The Barcelona forward picked up the knocks during the Samba Kings' penalty shoot-out win over Chile in the last-16 on Saturday, and fears suggested he could be facing up to 10 days on the sidelines.

However, following a consultation with team doctor Jose Luiz Runco on Monday, it appears Neymar is likely to sit out training, but should be fit and ready for the last-eight.

"The worst is the knee, it's what's hurting the most," Brazil spokesman Rodrigo Paiva said.

"He may be rested from practice if needed.

"He will be evaluated again, but Runco said fans don't have to worry because he's not a concern for the match."
