Blind shuns United attention

Cape Town - The Ajax midfielder has been linked with a move to the Red Devils, who will be managed by Oranje coach Louis van Gaal after the showpiece in Brazil.

Blind featured in his country's Group B opener against Spain last week, providing assists for their first two goals in a 5-1 win over the defending champions.

However, the 24-year-old son of former Dutch defender Danny Blind, who is Van Gaal's assistant for the national team, has played down talk of following his father to United next month.

"All the attention is a very big thing now, but I try not to think about it too much and will keep my feet on the ground," Blind is quoted as saying by Voetbal International.

"The link with Manchester United is easily made because (international team-mate) Robin (van Persie) is playing there and Van Gaal takes over next season."
