Kieran Trippier opened the scoring early for England with a magnificent free-kick, before Ivan Perisic struck late in the second half to take the match into extra-time.
With 11 minutes left of extra-time, veteran forward Mario Mandzukic pounced on a loose ball to send Croatia to their first ever Soccer World Cup final.

England will now meet Belgium in the playoff for third/fourth on Saturday, July 14 (kick-off at 16:00 SA time).
The final will be played on Sunday, July 15 between France and Croatia (kick-off at 17:00 SA time).
