Cape Town - Percy Tau scored an impressive first goal on his full debut for new Belgian side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in a comfortable 3-0 win over City Pirates in the Croky Cup.
Tau scored with a confident finish as he chipped the onrushing goalkeeper after being played through on goal, to mark a positive start to the campaign in Europe.
"I'm obviously happy to score my first goal," Tau told the club's website. "The team is progressing well, the fans' support at the stadium was good and this result is the fruit of our hard work.
"Scoring with a chip? I tried my luck and thankfully it went in, I'm especially happy that we won and move on to the next round," he said.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns player is spending the current campaign on a season-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion after a R50 million transfer to the Premier League side.
Union SG ply their trade in Belgium's second division with Brighton owner, Tony Bloom, also a majority shareholder of the Belgian outfit with aims of winning promotion to the Belgian First Division A.
