Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns have been drawn to face eight-time African champions Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League quarter-finals in early April.
Sundowns finished second in Group A which meant they were put in a more challenging pot for the knockout stages of Africa's most prestigious club competition.
A 1-0 defeat to Wydad Casablanca ensured they ended second and it means they have to play the second leg of the quarterfinal away in Egypt.
However, the Brazilians do have a good pedigree in the tournament as they won the competition in sensational fashion in 2016.
Meanwhile, Al Ahly ended top of Group D with three wins, a draw and two losses. On paper it seems the Egyptian giants will be slight favourites in the encounter.
The first leg games are scheduled to be played on the first weekend of April.
