Shell Cup moved, Sundowns to meet Chiefs in November

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs will meet South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns in the second instalment of the Shell Helix Cup on Saturday, November 16.

The Brazilians won the inaugural edition of the competition last pre-season in an encounter which was notable for Jeremy Brockie's first strike.

The New Zealand star has since been starved of playing time as Lebohang Maboe has since gone on to become the recognised starting number nine.

Nonetheless, Chiefs will face the Brazilians in November due to the Africa Cup of Nations tournament which is taking place in June and July.

Shell have a three-year deal to keep the competition running which means there will be a third edition of the cup in 2020 as well.

The match is to be staged at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg though a kick-off time is yet to be announced.

Jaco Beukes, the Chief Executive Officer of Stadium Management, said: "The event going ahead as per last year with the same teams, 16 November."
