Shalulile delighted with win over Kaizer Chiefs

Cape Town - Highlands Park forward Peter Shalulile is happy that his team overcame the odds to seal a victory in their Nedbank Cup clash against Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday.

Shalulile gave the Lions of the North the lead in the 57th minute but Chiefs drew level when the home team's defender Sello Motsepe put the ball into own net just after the hour mark.

The game, which was played in torrential rain making the pitch very muddy, eventually went to penalties with the hosts claiming a 5-4 win in the spot-kicks.

Shalulile told SuperSport after the game: "It was not an easy game against Chiefs, it's never easy and the weather but we managed to win the game.

"It was one of those games, they always want to get a goal through the set-pieces but unfortunately our defender headed the ball in the back of the net."

Shalulile and his team-mates will now look forward to the Nedbank Cup Last 8 draw that takes place on Tuesday.
