Cape Town - The Premier Soccer League (PSL) is working closely with South African Police Services (SAPS) and several other security role players to ensure that the 2018/19 edition of the Nedbank Cup final between Kaizer Chiefs and TS Galaxy is safe and secured.
SAPS will deploy a huge contingent in and around the stadium prescient. Amongst the activities being monitored is the illegal resale of ticket and sale of fake tickets. At the previous Cup final at the same venue, eight people spent a night in jail after they were arrested for selling fake tickets and reselling tickets.
Tickets for this match were sold out in less than 24 hours.
The PSL together with SAPS have urged people who do not have a match ticket to stay at home and rather watch the match live on SuperSport and SABC.
As part of the stringent security measures around the stadium, scanners will be used at all the entry points and those caught with fake tickets face arrest.
The clash will take place on Saturday, May 18 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban at 19:00.
Gates will open at 14h00 as there will be a host of activities ahead of kick-off including a World-Cup style Fan Zone and a music concert.
The first 10 000 supporters to arrive at the stadium will receive Nedbank Cup goodies.
Supporters will be able to enjoy a number of activities in the Fan Zone including obstacle courses, human foosball, penalty shootouts and Xbox to mention a few.
