Johannesburg - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has admitted he wants the club to win the MTN8 although he concedes it is difficult due to CAF Champions League commitments.
Sundowns cruised into the semi-finals to face Cape Town City on the weekend of August 25/26, when they beat Golden Arrows 2-0 last Saturday at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
However, the Brazilians have a challenging run of fixtures starting with a Group C Champions League tie against Wydad Casablanca on Friday (kick-off is at 21:00), before an Absa Premiership outing on Tuesday against Highlands Park.
With that said, Mosimane is realistic about his side's prospects of trying to win the MTN8. He said: "Desperate (to win the MTN8)? I am not sure.
"But eager yes. I would love to win it. I also myself want to win it with Sundowns because I have not won it with Sundowns.
"But this cup we always have the Champions League semi and quarter-finals in between.
"It doesn't give me happiness to play or not put the best team on the pitch that I think on the day is the best team.
"I play this week, I am playing another game next week. Like I am playing (Arrows) but I am managing the game against Wydad."
