Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane congratulated the match officials after his team progressed to the Telkom Knockout semi-finals in a penalty shootout win over Chippa United on Sunday.
Mosimane has been outspoken in recent weeks about referees and how other teams have benefited from certain decisions.
The Sundowns mentor though praised the man in the middle for Sunday's encounter after an exciting clash finished 2-2 after extra-time with the Tshwane side eventually winning 4-3 in the spot-kicks.
Mosimane said after the game: "We need to congratulate the referees, I congratulate them, even when I lose, I do congratulate them, but I will also complain even if I win, so I'm congratulating them.
"Tell me any coach who congratulates the referees, it's only me. That perception that Pitso is always complaining about referees, yes, I will complain if they are doing the wrong things.
"I will congratulate the referees and I've been fined for congratulating the referees, did you see my charge? I congratulated the referee, I'm fined.
"So, what should I do, criticize them?"
The Brazilians are back in action on Wednesday as Baroka FC entertain the league champions at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Kick-off is at 19:30.
