Cape Town - Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau has revealed his mother Elizabeth will decide his squad number at new side Club Brugge.
Tau has signed for the season with Brugge on loan from Brighton and could be involved in the UEFA Champions League group stages should the side come through the qualifiers.
The 25-year-old forward remains unable to play for Brighton in the English Premier League due to work permit restrictions.
As Bafana Bafana remain outside of the top 50 in the FIFA world rankings, he is not eligible for a permit.
Last season the former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker was voted as the Belgium second tier's best player and it seemingly has won him the move to the Belgian giants.
Tau told Brugge's official Twitter site: "I think the expectations are a bit higher, and I'm just proud to be a part of those expectations.
"And hopefully we'll get to win some silverware, because I think winning plays a big role at this club.
"I think the jersey looks beautiful. For sure, I like black because that's one of my favourite colours that I enjoy wearing, but also the blue looks nice.
"Most of the numbers are taken, so I will just think of a number that plays a big role either to me or my family, but I think my Mum has to choose this one, she'll choose a number."
