Paez, Jayiya Kaizer Chiefs future thrown into doubt

Cape Town - The future of attackers Gustavo Paez and Bhongolethu Jayiya at Kaizer Chiefs has been thrown into doubt after being left out of the club's Confederations Cup squad, named on Monday.

The two players have fallen down the pecking order at Amakhosi under Italian tactician Giovanni Solinas, having seen minimal playing time and often failing to make match-day squads.

Chiefs released their squad list ahead of their tilt at lifting the CAF Confederation Cup trophy.

The Glamour Boys will mark their return to the continental competition when they host Zanzibar’s Zimamoto at Port Elizabeth's Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Wednesday, November 28.

The club has elected not to fill all the spots as more players can still be registered at a later stage of the tournament.

Other players who have also not been named in the initial squad are: Kgotso Malope, Joseph Molangoane and Wiseman Meyiwa with the latter two being ruled out through injury.
